Our goal is lasting balance: new technology and content should open up different strategies and challenges, rather than make yesterday’s equipment obsolete with every update. Your configuration, teamwork and decisions should keep their value.
This is our development direction, not a promise that stats will never change. The current game includes stronger equipment tiers, different drone classes and crafting progression. Future additions and balance changes will be judged against this goal.

Questions before your first flight?
Is World of Frontiers a DarkOrbit alternative?
If you enjoy games like DarkOrbit, you will recognise spaceships, factions, PvE, PvP and clans. World of Frontiers is an independent game with no official connection to DarkOrbit.
Can I play World of Frontiers for free?
Yes. Registration and starting the game are free. Optional Nova packs, Premium and cosmetic purchases are available. Nova can also be earned by playing.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Play directly in a current browser. The game needs an internet connection and JavaScript.
Does the game have PvP and PvE?
Yes. Fight NPC enemies, complete missions and challenge other pilots on PvP-enabled maps. Protection rules apply in places such as stations and jump gates.
What does “no power creep” mean?
Our design goal is to preserve the value of progression and introduce different ways to play. It does not mean that all equipment is equally strong or that balance values can never change.
Can I earn Nova without paying?
Yes. Nova is available through in-game rewards, including eligible missions and daily rewards. Nova packs can also be purchased with real money.
Are there clans and factions?
Yes. The game includes three factions, clans, groups and diplomacy.
Can I play on a smartphone?
Yes. Touch controls and an adapted interface are available. Performance and visibility depend on your device, screen and browser; a larger screen gives you more room.
